In the 34th round of Ligue 1, Messi was suspended for two weeks by PSG and was left out of the squad for the game against Troyes. This decision was seen as a tough and bold move by the PSG management, as the team’s lead in the league was under threat from Lens, who were just 3 points behind them in the standings.

However, PSG had little trouble dominating the game against Troyes, who were struggling and sitting at the bottom of the Ligue 1 table. The away team scored the opening goal just 8 minutes into the game, with Mbappe being the one to shine. From a pass by Vitinha, the ball hit the crossbar and fell right into Mbappe’s path, allowing him to easily score from close range.

The early goal helped PSG maintain a good rhythm and constantly threaten Troyes’ goal. In the 21st and 27th minutes, Troyes goalkeeper Gallon had to make consecutive saves to prevent Fabian Ruiz’s shots from finding the back of the net.

Troyes were almost completely outplayed in the first half, and when they finally had a good chance to score at the end of the half, Donnarumma made an outstanding save to block Balde’s dangerous header.

In the second half, PSG continued to dominate and scored another goal. In the 59th minute, Verratti passed the ball into the penalty area for Vitinha to head towards the goal. Although Gallon managed to make the save, the ball hit Vitinha’s body and went into the net.

Troyes tried to mount a comeback in the 83rd minute with Chavalerin’s goal, but their hopes were quickly dashed when Fabian Ruiz scored a goal to seal the 3-1 victory for PSG, just three minutes later, from a rebounded Mbappe shot which was saved by Gallon.

This victory helped PSG strengthen their lead in Ligue 1 with 78 points after 34 rounds, 6 points ahead of second-placed Lens.
