Inter Milan Beat AC Milan 2-0 in UCL Semi-Final 1st Leg

Inter Milan convincingly won 2-0 against AC Milan in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals. The two goals for the Nerazzurri were scored by Dzeko and Mkhitaryan within just three minutes.

Twenty years after their encounter in the Champions League semi-finals (2002/03 season), Inter and AC Milan met again in this round. However, unlike in the past, the two Milan giants no longer maintain the same dominance.

One more difference is that Inter is no longer inferior to their archrivals. If 20 years ago, Nerazzurri were eliminated in a harsh way due to the away goal rule, now the blue and black team can look towards a brighter future.

In the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals last night, Inter won 2-0 against Milan, to gain a huge advantage in the race for a spot in the final. Inter’s two goals were scored within three minutes by Dzeko and Mkhitaryan.

As long as Inter does not lose to Milan by more than two goals, they will make it to the Champions League final for the first time since the 2009/10 season when they became champions of the tournament with Mourinho as the coach.

In this match, Milan did not have the service of Rafael Leao due to injury, which was a big loss for the Rossoneri. Coach Stefano Pioli had to use Saelemaekers as a replacement. On the Inter side, Lukaku was on the bench, giving way to the striking duo of Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez.

In the second half, Milan played stronger, but just like in the first half, Inter was more effective. In the 54th minute, Dzeko had a face-to-face situation with the goalkeeper but failed to score.
